NOTICE: Positive Case of COVID-19 in District
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff and Community
Today we received notification and confirmation that a student in the first grade has tested positive for COVID-19. While we must protect the privacy of the student, we believe it is best to inform you so you can make informed decisions about your family’s health.
Parents of students that were in close contact with this student are being notified. The students are mandated to quarantine at home for 14 days from the last possible contact with the student. According to district policy, the students that are quarantined will be a part of our distance-learning program.
Since the student was last at school on Tuesday, August 25, the mandatory quarantine time frame for this incident begins Monday, August 31 and ends September 8. The students that are quarantined may return to school on Wednesday, September 9.
Zion School will continue to follow the guidelines and protocols set by Health Officials and our school district to decrease the spread of the virus. Please continue to follow the recommended practices to protect your families and others. The guidelines and protocols are listed on the school website.
Should your child/children start exhibiting COVID-19 related symptoms, it is strongly recommended that you contact your primary care physician or local health department to have them tested immediately. Please contact the school and keep us informed about the health of your child/children.
Thank you for your support. Our primary concern is the health and well-being of your child/children and family.
Regards,
Rita Bunch
Superintendent
