2020 Zion Honor Students Named
Kaylea Jo Benham, daughter of Chad and Valerie Benham, and Adrian Lynn Gaches, daughter of Janene Benham and Darrell Gaches, have been named co-valedictorians of the 2020 eighth grade graduating class of Zion School. The salutatorian is Kendall Nicole Eubanks, daughter of Jill Eubanks and Joe Eubanks.
Miss Benham has attended Zion from 3 years old through the eighth grade. She is a member of the Lady Jets basketball, softball, track, cross country and soccer teams, the Zion Cheerleaders, the Zion 4-H Club, the FCS Club, the Zion Academic Team, the Zion Student Council and has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for six years. Besides earning the title of co-valedictorian, Kaylea was a member of the ORES Division II Zion Lady Jets Basketball and Softball State Champion Teams and was voted into the ORES Division II Basketball All-Tournament Team. She is the Student Council President, the Zion 4-H Secretary and has received numerous 4-H and academic awards.
Kaylea’s hobbies include cooking, fishing, playing with puppies and spending time with friends and family. She is a member of the Victory Southern Baptist Church and plans to attend Stilwell High School in the Fall.
Miss Gaches has attended Zion since 2nd grade. She is a member of the Lady Jets basketball, softball, track, cross country, and soccer teams, the Zion Cheerleaders, the Zion 4-H Club, the Zion Student Council, the Zion Archery Team, and has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for six years. In addition to earning the title of co-valedictorian, Adrian was the pitcher for the first ever Zion Lady Jets ORES Division II Softball State Champion Team and was a member of the Zion Lady Jets ORES Division II State Champion Team for two years. She was voted as the Student Council Secretary and the 8th grade homecoming attendant and has received various 4-H and academic awards.
Adrian’s hobbies include playing softball, adding to her collection of Crocs, and annoying her sister. She will be attending Stilwell High School in the Fall and is a member of the First Christian Church.
Miss Eubanks has attended Zion from 3 years old through the eighth grade. She is a member of the Zion Cheerleaders, the Zion Archery Team, the Zion 4-H Club, the FCS club, the Zion Student Council, and has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for six years. Besides earning the title of Salutatorian, Kendall won the Student of Today Award in 6th grade and was the Zion Cheer Captain.
Kendall’s hobbies include feeding and working cows, messing with her sisters, watching tiktoks, collecting Vans and biking. She plans to attend Stilwell High School in the Fall.
Other honor graduates to be recognized for their academic achievements include: Lexy Anderson, daughter of Brenda Ritchie; Madison Ingram, daughter of Becky Tibbit and Jeremy Ingram; Christopher Lovejoy, son of Gretchen and Wayne Anderson and Jerrod Lovejoy; Ethan Morrison, son of Charles Morrison and Jessie Chumwalooky; Kasia Thurber, daughter of Stacy Benham and Brian Thurber; Hayden Van Auken, son of Robert and Angela Van Auken; Snowda Watie, daughter of Sundown and Mandy Watie; and Adonica Wolf, daughter of Monica Duncan and Kevin Wolf.
Other Zion graduates are Annaston Brown, Jaden Christie, Rosco Dunn, Baker Giffin, Keegan Hallmark, Tobey Martin, Hunter Miller, Colby Philpott, Taya Ross, Isiah Sam, and Zachary Squirrell.
